Controlling my anxiety with parkrun

After years of struggling with anxiety and depression, I started running in 2015 as part of my efforts to manage my mental health problems. It’s completely changed my life.

Severe anxiety and mild depression meant that I often lacked the motivation. I was worried that she wasn’t good enough and was being judged by others.

But running and parkrun changed all that. My anxiety is much less when I run and parkrun lets me volunteer. There’s a really great community spirit and you make friends and recognise the faces.
